PROGRESS FROM CHAOS TO ORDER 2/3/2013

We have been busy, busy busy!  Ann has been working in the house, attempting to decide what kind and what color of carpet for the living room and changing rooms like our bedroom into something more like a bedroom than a storage unit.

Wayne has been tearing apart an old house at a neighbors place, gleaning lumber and plywood to make shelving in the garage.  Here's the gleaned for free lumber.  (Only cost was a sprained ankle from falling out of the old house while tearing it apart.)

 

While Wayne was mending his ankle, Ann was busy tackling rooms and putting more order in our lives.

 When Wayne finally got back to work he tore out all the old shelving that was inadequate and poorly constructed (not able to hold all he wanted to put on them) and replaced with a more sturdy design.

 Then he put things in better order and packed the shelves with all the much needed, important items that we just can't live without and seldom use.

Changed electrical stuff so we could have the garage refrigerator and freezer where he wanted them,

and got his tools in order....sort of.

Then we went to Wayne's brother's place to get more of our stuff.

 So, the house is moving in the direction of order, the garage is a work in progress and still as we unpack and reorganize, we find there are items that need to be moved elsewhere and we are waiting opportunities to store in someone else's home.  Hint, hint, hint.

 But still, the sunsets are awesome, the work is sweet and the rewards are coming

YAWN!!! 1/17/2013

Just got home after a traumatic and depressing day. We took our trailer to the Consignment Lot in Grants Pass and turned it over to be sold.  Also got our lawn mower and tool storage shed and its contents from Wayne's brother's house and brought those home.  All that is left of our possessions that have not been moved to Gold Beach is Ann's piano.
It was an all day project and we got home late in the night. 
Consolation???  It was 28 degrees in Medford and 43 degrees in Gold Beach.

MAN!! THIS IS THE LIFE??? 1/16/2012

Several of you out there in the non face book world have requested pictures of our move-in process.  Well, we have been so busy that we forget to take pictures.  So today, Ann remembered as we were working on a few rooms.  So, here's a little tour:
This is the spare bedroom upstairs full of stuff until we get the living room ceiling painted and new carpet in the living room.

So, our life is hectic, full and in the process of getting organized.  Busy, busy, busy!  But the last few days has been blue skied, so each evening we take a little time to look at the sunset.

Depending on the fog bank out in the ocean, we get different views.

The "Sun Room" is a perfect place to watch each day end!

FAMILY ATTACK 12/29-30/2012

Our #2 son, Jared, his wife, Angi and their family stopped by for a quick visit on their way home from Angi's parents house.  We went beach exploring on a day when the plankton had been murdered by the violent surf,

 creating a foamy shoreline.  The kids had a blast chasing the wind driven rolling plankton foam.

 They also had fun climbing Turtle Rock. The Hulk was not too excited about getting up too high.

 But, Bananas climbed all the way to the top!

 And Dad went along too!

 Oranges and Superman were all over the place and I never got a shot of them up on the rock.  Then they all decided to climb a fallen tree.  Bananas was the highest.

 Then came Superman.

 Then The Hulk and Oranges.

 Superman thinks deep thoughts as he ponders the world.

 Bananas decided to jump......as long as Dad was there to catch her.  Her knees caught Jared just right and knocked the wind out of him.  Poor boy!

 Then we went to our trailer and the kids all admired Ann's beach treasure collection.  They each got to take one home with them. 

 After an explore of the huge metropolis of Gold Beach we hustled back home to watch the sunset from our sun room.

  After dinner, it was time to open belated Christmas presents.  jared is a tru Daddy.  he has sop much fun watching his children open presents.

 After presents, Grandma set up a cookie decorating experience for her grand kids.  I think Ann is happiest when she is building memories with her grand children!  Superman added sprinkles for topping.

 Then ist is time to settle down for night time sleepy time.  But first a story by Dad!

On the 30th, the family left us to head home.  Thus ended our Christmas time.  New Years Eve we spent having a wild party at church. "Waffles from Heaven at 7"  We had waffles and root beer floats, then played games until 11:00 PM.  A wild night to ring in 2013.  We were both in bed when the gunshots and fireworks began!

GOLD BEACH CAROLERS 12/23/2012

A Mormon congregation, usually consisting of 250-500 members, is usually called a Ward.  A smaller congregation, about 25-100 members, in more rural areas, is called a Branch.  Our congregation in Gold Beach is a Branch, but..... taking into account its small numbers, maybe it should be called a twig!  But, what we lack in numbers we make up for in activities, fellowship and fun times together!
On the 23rd we went caroling at the only assisted living facility in the area.  Wayne had a bad cough, so he did not sing, but all our members sang their hearts out and we were well received!
