DISNEY WORLD'S MAGIC KINGDOM 4/25/2011

We spent this day at Magic Kingdom.  It was very similar to Disneyland in California but there were some differences too.  Some of the rides that they have in California are just a bit different.  They also have a few rides that are not at Disneyland.
After you park you can take the monorail or a boat ride to Magic Kingdom.  We took the boat ride since the line was shorter.  It was a nice relaxing ride with lots of pretty sites along the way.  This is one of the Disney Resorts.  They are very fancy.  We didn't stay there.  We stayed at a campground near there that we have a membership in, so it didn't cost us anything to stay there the 2 weeks we were camped.  It was a  nice campground.  I think you can see a picture of it a few blogs back.
We arrived at the park!
One of the first things we saw was this group singing.  I got to join them along with a few other people. That was fun!
One of the first rides we went on was an old stand-by.  There were a few different things in this ride.  Below are 2 pictures of some of the different scenes.  Our girl who drove the boat was hilarious!  She was as much fun as the ride.
These gorillas ransacked this tent.
This is a family of lions.  There's a cub or 2 on the rock.  It was really cute.
We also went on the Pirates' of the Caribbean.  There were a few differences on this ride too but it was mainly the same.
This was fun to stop and watch.  These totem poles spit out steam and water at different intervals.  The kids just loved trying to dodge the sprays but at other times run into the sprays.  We thought of our grandchildren as we were watching these children and knew how much fun they would have.
One of our favorite characters from the Disney Movies.
We had a little wait for this ride but not bad by Disney World standards.  I'm happy that we waited till this week to go to Magic Kingdom.  The crowds were much less this week.  We had fun on the ride.
One of my favorite places today was on Huck Finn's Island.  We went over on a raft.
We had our lunch on the island.  Just some food we had brought from home.
Again we had a guest for lunch.  I think these birds know where there lunch is coming from.  They always seem to show up wherever you are eating.  They sure are pretty though, so I don't mind.
We also saw this familiar boat.
We visited Fort Langhorn while we were there.  This is such a fun place for kids.  I know Wayne and I both would have loved this island when we were kids.  In fact I'm sure that I played there as a kid in the Anaheim Park.

Doesn't Wayne look like a full fledged pioneer???!!!!  Maybe from the 70's right.  (The 1870's?).....Hummm.
This was one of the things that was new to us.  It is the Hall of Presidents.
It had a great show that used animatronics.  Some of the presidents talked.  At the end they each introduced themselves.  That was pretty moving even though it was just animatronics.
As we were waiting in line to go on "The Haunted Mansion" I had to take a snapshot of this horse and buggy.  You have to look at both pictures.  I couldn't get it in one picture since I was in line.  Look closely though at the horse, he's a bit, "not all there" if you know what I mean.

We went to the musical, "Dream Along with Mickey".  I put the next 3 pictures in for our granddaughters.

The next 2 pictures are for our grandsons.

Of course, at the end of the play the bad guys are taken care of and all is well again.
Here I am enjoying one of my favorite treats.  Yum, candy apples!
We went to Tomorrow-land.
This was a new ride to us.  It was a very interactive ride.
I wasn't sure I was going to like this one, but I did.  Those monsters are pretty funny.
Even though this is a kid's ride it has always been one of my favorites.  It is obviously a lot of other people's favorite too since the line was always busy.  We got a fast pass for it.
They had very beautiful mosaic art inside Sleepy Beauty's Castle.
This is just a close up of the tiles.  So beautiful!  Such talent.
Towards evening there were several of these birds in the area we were in.  They have such lacy and delicate tale feathers.
We went on the Thunder Mountain Railroad Ride.   Wayne braved it but he shouldn't have.  It made him pretty car sick.  Poor guy.  I felt really bad for him.
We went on a relaxing train ride after that.
I just love the lights on Main Street at night.  They are so pretty.

They had a light show at night.  I loved the different colors they made Sleeping Beauty's Castle.  Again I thought how much our grandchildren would have loved to see the castle turn different colors.  I put these pictures in for the grandchildren and all the children at heart.

What a fun and full day!
