Spotted this walking tree down a side ally as we went in the park. So graceful and slow moving!
Then around the corner was the contrasting view of beautiful.
Due to Spring Break being over, things were a little less crowded and hectic. wayne actually was more relaxed and had the best time of all of his days in the Kingdom.
It seemed most of the animals were a little more laid back too!
We walked through all the jungle like areas, just relaxing and enjoying the lack of pushing and shoving. It was nice!
We again went on the Indian train ride out to an island that housed a lot of animals. Last time we had not gotten off because we were in a hurry to get to some other attraction that carried more weight on the "Importance Scale".
Here we came up close with all kinds of smaller animals. You can't see it too well from this picture, but these little monkeys had white mustaches!
These little monkeys looked solid gold.
Here is Wayne standing at the entrance to the animal area we were going to visit on the island. This mural behind him displayed all the types of animals that the Disney Corporation has had a hand in saving and helping survive. They apparently are quite active in the world in the area of animal conservation.
This little alligator was out being held by the ranger.
Ann got to pet him. He was about a year old.
This character was quite a card. He talked and interacted with the people that came by his area.
We re-visited an area where there was an underwater viewing area where there had been a hippo, but he was too far away to see, but today........
...he was quite active and close up for us. At actually appeared as though he was more curious about us behind the glass than we were of him! They are actually quite graceful and good swimmers under water!
We got to see the mama and baby gorilla again. Quite cute!!
The baby was very playful today.
Just like the parade in Disneyland that goes down Main Street, here in the Animal Kingdom they have a parade too, but very different in nature. They also recruited visitors from out of the crowd to ride on the animals and wave at the crowds. Some of the smaller kids were quite excited to be in the parade!!!
Near the end of the day, Ann decided to ride the Matterhorn type ride. Wayne declined and was glad he did. It was quite violent ans car sickening. Ann got off quite shaken and had sore neck muscles for the next couple days.
Wayne preferred the more peaceful things of the day, as did Ann for the rest of the day.
Except we finished off the day by riding the water rapids ride twice. We got soaked (which was totally acceptable considering the heat and humidity of the day). Wayne had a blast interacting with the kids on the ride. He felt the old teacher in him come out again. In all, it was an excellent day and wonderful way to finish off 5 days spent in Disney World Orlando, Florida!!!!
