Ann has been busy making booties for our niece's new son. Here they are just before we mailed them.
Our campsite in Medina Lake TT northwest of San Antonio on the morning we left 3/15.
On the 3/15 we headed east towards Huston. We had noticed on the internet that there was supposed to be an awesome pecan processing plant and orchard that we could tour in Seguin, TX. So, we stopped in the town and learned that this area is big into pecans and their claim to fame is having the biggest one!
Seguin water meter lid.
We found the place where there was supposed to be a great tour and found it to be something entirely different.
All it was was a place where the owner of a big pecan orchard who was crazy about nut crackers, housed his thousands of nut crackers that he had bought on his world travels and has them all on display for the public to view. I think the guy was a little eccentric!!! The guy Wayne was posing with was not him....
We arrived at Colorado River TT Preserve near Columbus, Texas, where we spent a couple days.
It was a beautiful, though small park next to the river on rolling hills.
This was our back yard.
On 3/17 we headed out towards Huston to go to the temple and visit Ann's cousins. This is more of beautiful Texas. We found we really like it here. It is very green! That is nice after so long we spent in dryer climates as we came east.
We gradually have begun to see more water. The desert was so dry and now we are in an area that reminds us of Oregon.
We arrived in Huston and what does Wayne take his first picture of?????
The temple here is beautiful. We did some initiatory work, so were only there a couple hours.
You can see it is getting more humid. Ann's hair is beginning to frizz out. Wayne loves it when it does that!!!!
