BRINGING OUR REDMOND FAMILY VISIT TO A CLOSE 9/16-18/2011

As our assistance for Sean and Amanda was approaching a close, we took Captain America and Peaches on a weekend camping trip to Sun River/Bend Thousand Trails Preserve.  Our first evening was a little chilly, so the heaters came in handy!
But, the next day was bright, sunny and almost hot, which warranted some bike riding.....
...by both Captain America and Peaches.  Grandpa went on a few of the bike rides too.  We explored the preserve quite a lot.  Grandpa had borrowed Sean's bike and has decided he wants one too!!  Maybe someday we can get one for Grandma and Grandpa!!
We are so blessed to have such good looking Oregon Grandkids.  In fact we have good looking Maryland Grandkids, good looking California Grandkids and good looking Utah Grandkids too!!!  And the fuel companies of America are totally tickled that we enjoy going to see those good looking Grandkids all around the country!!
Grandpa loves to tell stories and loves to tease, but as you can see by the looks on these faces, he is not always believed!!  Grandpa hears a lot of, "Grandma, is Grandpa telling the truth??"
Seeing as how the pool was a toasty 84 degrees, Camden and Grandpa decided to try a swim.  Camden thought it was perfect.  Grandpa, after awhile, opted for the hot tub!!!

Amazing what swimming does to little boys!!
Peaches is going to be an architect when she grows up!
Pretty good city designs, don't you think?
 Just hanging around with Grandma!!
Sunday morning pancakes, ala Grandma and Peaches!
Sunday afternoon, after dropping captain America and Peaches off at their parents, we spent a couple hours visiting with our nephew and his family.  It was good to see them again and spend some time with them.
Then, we headed back to our trailer and exhaustedly relaxed and went to bed early.  Been a very busy couple weeks.  We will stay here at Sun River/Bend Thousand Trails Preserve until Wednesday, September 21, when we will leave and take 2 days to drive to Medford, OR where we will spend a week or so with family there and do doctor visits.

AN UNCLE JED VISIT 9/13/2011

Uncle Jed was in Oregon setting up for a movie he will shoot here in December and decided to come pay us all in Redmond a visit.  There were all the standard activities of an uncle coming from New York for a visit.
Like reading stories to Peaches......
....trying to ignore a pestering brother......
 .....spending time with Brody......
....and hanging out with his brother.
We all really enjoyed Uncle Jed's brief visit.

CAPTAIN AMERICA'S LEGO CITY 9/11/2011

One thing that Grandma and Grandpa are good at is being coerced into going to Captain America's room and helping him add more to his Lego City.  Below are some shots of Captain America's creativity.

 Not bad, eh!!!!

REDMOND OREGON 2ND EDITION

After a few days of transporting Captain America and Peaches back and forth to school, they convinced the parents that they were able to ride the bus to and from school.  After a few trial runs, it now has become part of the morning and afternoon routine, to walk them to the stop and then be there for them when they return.

While Captain America and Peaches are at school, shopping, cleaning and such takes place.  It is also a time of peace for their new kitten, Gilly.  She thinks Sean is the purrrrfect father and tends to follow him around and sleeps in his arms like a baby.
Gilly gets so relaxed while the kids are gone that she will fall deeply asleep in Sean's arms and then be totally out for the count, no matter what Sean does to her.
 Now, that's one relaxed cat!!!
Then Captain America comes home......

....and so does Peaches.  Gilly's peaceful day is done!

Okay, I am not making my grandkids out to be kitty terrorizing monsters!  They just love to play with the new kitty...... a lot!
