WASHINGTON DC 5/25-26/2011

On Wednesday, May 25 we drove up through beautiful country to Washington DC.  We got turned around a little in WDC and ended up maneuvering a turn around in Lockheed's parking lot.  Tight but doable.  WDC is certainly a difficult place to pull a rig through!
We headed a little north to the temple and parked in the Visitors Center parking lot.  We toured the Visitors Center and immediately felt lonesome for our mission we served in Oakland, CA.  It was beautiful and much larger than Oakland VC.  We visited with the missionaries there.  Then we changed clothes and went to do two sessions in the temple.  We have been to the WDC Temple once before in about 2005 or so.  It is a beautiful temple inside and out.
When we came out of the temple, it was dark.  We then moved our rig to the parking lot of the Stake Center just up the hill and waited for a visit.
Our dear little Sister Zavala, whom we served with on our mission, now lives in WDC.  We had contacted her earlier and arranged to meet up with her tonight.  She is doing well and we had a fun time visiting with her until about midnight.  Good times!
Thursday morning we got up and attended the temple again before leaving to head to Thurmont, Maryland.
