ON TO BATON ROUGE 3/24-25/2011

More back roads, more detours, more broken bridges, more spring, more humidity, more beautiful country, more azaleas.
Yes, there really is a Winn-Dixie market chain! We had seen the movie several years ago that was staged in the south, but we were unaware that these stores were real. They are all over the place in the smaller communities. We seem to be favoring the smaller communities to the bigger ones. We are finding more and more hostile, angry people in the bigger cities. The real folks are in the smaller off the main road places
In Baton Rouge, we found sanctuary at the temple. We spent our first night in a WalMart parking lot and found it less than friendly. Wayne was treated rudely by a couple people that felt the race war was still on. It was reverse prejudice. Very interesting. So when we went to the temple the next morning and found that they \would allow long distance travelers to spend the night in the safety of the temple parking lot, we took them up on it. So, we did temple work two days there. Very friendly people here, of both colors!
The temple is almost an exact duplicate of our Medford temple, so we were doubly right at home.
