TERESA AND EARNEST 3/21/2011

After spending the last several days with Grant, Melanie, Earnest and Teresa at Grant and Melanie's place we still wanted to spend a little more time with Earnest and Teresa.  They had to leave the island a day earlier than us to get back to Houston to take care of their home, cat and dog, so we wanted to go see them a little more and see their home.
What a relaxing time we had with them in their two "restoration in progress" homes located in the older, fancy, historical part of downtown Houston.  We spent the afternoon with them visiting and touring the city of Houston.  Here Wayne caught Teresa and Ann visiting on the patio.
Teresa fixed us a nice lunch with home made fruit flavored lemonade, Wayne's favorite!!!!  Earnest was in the middle of repairing a broken sewer line.  Wayne was familiar with this project, having just done that a few months earlier on our house in Oregon.
This is their house next door that they have completely gutted and are in the process of restoring it.  We were taken on a fascinating tour of it as well as Teresa taking us around town to show us the many historical homes she and Earnest have bought and restored.  Some they sold and some they still own as rentals.  A fascinating set of projects they have been involved in!!
This is looking from the back yard of their restoration project into the back porch of the restoration project they currently live in.  They have done a wonderful job of making this older home into a newer home.  They are quite skilled in this art form.
Wayne found out that Earnest had a Harley.
Earnest proudly showed it off plus all the custom work he has done to it.  You like it, Cliff???
Their wonderful dog was a chase the stick addict and Wayne entertained him for a long time. Then he disappeared and this is where Wayne found him. His own private pool!!!  He was worn out and laid in the pool for quite some time.
We both would have loved to stay longer, but Wayne's feet began to itch and the road was calling him loudly, so he talked Ann into heading out on the trek east.  We can't begin to express how wonderful it was to get to know these two long lost cousins and their spouses.  W have truly missed out greatly from the lack of association these last 40 years.  Teresa, Earnest, Grant and Melanie... we hope to see you soon!!  Thanks for being family!
