JED GRADUATES 5/16/2012

After visiting Luke and Bethany's family, we drove our rented car back to New Jersey, dropped it off, took the bus back to Jed's apartment area and the next day we attended his graduation ceremonies from Columbia University from which he earned a MFA in Film and graduated with honors!!!

The day before it had poured down rain all day, but today, May 16th, it was overcast enough to cut the sun, but no rain fell!  The initial ceremony where all graduating colleges within the university were presented was held outside on this beautiful 250 year old campus.

With our telephoto lens we were able to see where Jed was seated, but we never saw him during the whole ceremony!

There were tons of people to our left.....

...tons in front of us...

....and tons to the right.

We were literally in a sea of people we did not know, but all unitedly here to support our kids.

After the long, long ceremony, we were served a box lunch outside the film building behind Jed.  During this time we continued to see the number of people that honored and respected Jed.  Lots of people came up to him and spoke kindly of him and to him.  Proud we were!

Wayne's not that short!  He is standing on a lower step, you understand!

Some of Jed's film friends and fellow graduates.

Then, after lunch and after Kate was able to get off work and join us, we migrated to the building where the film students would have their ceremony and receive their degrees.  The graduates were to sit in the red seats below us.

We were able to catch glimpses of Jed from a closer, but still distant distance.
Here he comes!

And then it is all done and we go outside for more greetings and pictures.  See Ann in the center, with Jed behind her?

There is the lady on the left, (Kate) that supported, sustained and kept Jed in books.  There is the guy on the right, (Jed) that worked his tail off.

Wayne got lost in the crowd and then proudly found his wife and son.

Wayne quickly ran around front and got another picture.  You know, there is little in this earthly life that makes Wayne more pleased, than to see his sons loving, honoring and respecting their mother!

These next few shots are just a sampling of the many, many people that came and mingled with Jed this day.

And then a couple proud parent shots....
...and a proud wife shot.  The TEAM that made this all happen!!!!!!
