Kevin leads the way with a 35 foot jump...
....showing Megan how it's done with good form.
A close up reveals good posing and personality in a good jump. Notice Megan doubled over as she laughs at her husband's "good form"?
Kevin continues his fall to the river below.
Megan follows her husband....
...gathering speed and balance as she approaches the water.....
....then demonstrates true form as she enters the water perfectly with hardly a splash. Kevin is schooled on cliff jumping by his wife. After all, Megan was on the diving team in high school and was state champion her senior year! Another Cowley becomes a Smith River Cliff Jumper....and with panache'!!
Then the loving couple makes the plunge together....
...holding hands all the way down....
...maintaining balance in their marriage and doing to together at each other's side, while holding hands.
Batman, who watched with enthusiasm, all the jumps his parents made, even the 62 foot jumps they both did, declared that he wanted to jump too. So off to a five footer he was carried by grandpa. Once he got up top, this little three year old was not too sure it was a good idea to jump. So Mom taught him the hows of it all.
Dad was down at the bottom to encourage him and ensure his safety once he hit the water.
A good cliff jumper completely studies his jump, the water and the surface of his launch pad. It makes it look like you are good at what you are doing, when it's really to stall for time. Batman was using this technique completely.
Mom decided that a little demonstration would help.
See, Batman? This is fun!!! Watch Daddy catch me!
Okay Batman. Daddy is here waiting for you.
And we have lift off!!!
And Dad lived up to his promise!
Batman jumped twice today and returned triumphant in Daddy's arms!!
By the way, we were accompanied by the Huffs too. Millie did not jump, but she got a good sunning and she found a lot of rocks to share with Grandma and Grandpa.
