THREE PIECES OF JULY: THIRD PIECE (B) 7/28/2013

Second day of our family reunion!  Ann's famous scrumptiously delicious Cowley Family gathering tradition of Apple Pancakes with brown sugar and butter was served for breakfast.  Jedediah, Kate and Green Hornet arrived late the night before, but were up and anxious to get started today!

We got everybody organized and then headed to Jedediah Smith State Park.  We had a picnic lunch in the park behind what had once been Ann's parent's store, Evergreen Glade.  Angi's parents, Bob and Anne Nobel, had picked Angi up at the Medford Airport and brought her over to join us, so we were now as large as we were going to get.  Only missing member was Amanda, Sean's wife, who was home taking care of a niece that was soon to deliver a baby.

Food and family galore in a place full of childhood memories for Ann, as we made new memories for the next generation.

Standing room only for Kevin, Bob and Anne, Angi and Bananas.

It is such a good feeling for us parents to see all our boys and their families together!!!!!

After we finished eating, said our good byes to Bob and Anne, we headed to Ann's old home, near where we had lunch, where she grew up.  It is now the lodge for the Hiouchi Hamlet RV Park in Hiouchi, CA.

Ann took the whole family on a tour of her childhood home.  All seemed to be impressed with the nostalgia of the experience.

Then we headed 6 miles up the Smith River to our familiy's favorite swimming hols and cliff jumping spot.  We spent a good part of the day cliff jumping and swimming.  What a fun day reliving and creating new memories!!!

Aunt Kate jumps from the 35 foot cliff!!  Wow!!

Then following her Aunt Kate's example, Strawberry jumps from the 35 footer!  Brave youngster!!!  All in all, several others, including Grandpa Cowley, did lots of jumps.  Sean and Kevin each jumped the 63 footer!!!  But our wonderful photographer, Grandma Cowley, was not able to keep up with all the jumps to capture them all as she also watched the little ones on shore.

After a fun day at the river, we all went back to our lodgings, changed clothes and went out to eat at Sunset Family Pizza.

Sunset Family Pizza was so accommodating to our large family group of 23!  We will definitely add this place to a favorites place here in our little town of Gold Beach!!!  They put us in the back by the game room.  We were able to be seated together at two large tables and the kids were able to roam around the large game room while we adults were able to sit and visit.  And, the four large pizzas, several orders of fries and several pitchers of soda more than filled us all and we had some to take home for snacks later!!  A great way to end the day!
